Turtle rescued at the Sunset Beach

Today the staff members of the Robinson Bungalows saved a turtle which got washed ashore entangled in plastic rubbish. Of course we have removed the debris and send the animal back into the ocean.

This again shows the urgent need in fighting the pollution and debris in the worlds oceans. Thousands of animals die because of plastic rubbish floating in the oceans. Turtles not only get entangled but also confuse plastic bags with jellyfish which is favored food of turtles.

Introducing Bernds Tauchsafaris

Often people ask us 'Where else is it good for diving?'

That's why we will start to write about other dive centers, our friends and partners around the world.

A great center is Bernds Tauchsafaris, specialized in liveabord trips around the Philippines. Bernd runs a German dive center in Panglao on the island Bohol.

The Philippines are great for diving with whalesharks but also the diversity of species is simply incredible!

In November, we plan to visit Bernd and do a one week dive safari, if interested to join us, just send us an email for further details. Otherwise you can contact Bernd via www.bernds-tauchsafaris.de/ or divewithbernd@yahoo.de.

Our new T-Shirts arrived!

Many years we have been wearing the same style t-shirts. Now we have finally got a new design for the back side of the shirt, not looking so much 80's style anymore! How do you like it?

Thanks a lot to Claire Thill for this design and also to Den Samut printing!

Welcome to the DSC Team Nek

Meet Nektarios, our new divemaster trainee!

Nek has been diving with us already a couple of weeks and successfully passed his Emergency First Responder, Rescue Diver and the Serach and Recovery specialty course.

Before leaving for his 3 month stay at Koh Rong Samloem, Nek has been working as a support diver, assisting the artists at a cruise ships evening shows.

You will most likely meet Nek out on the island, as he is permanently based at the Sunset Beach to do as much diving as possible to get the best out of his course!

Soon the Happa Restaurant, just 20m down the road from our main office in Sihanoukville, will change their business hours and offer lunch as well! The restaurant offers a fusion of local and Japanese cuisine, definitely a must try when in Sihanoukville!
