Javi is back!

Welcome back Javier, our Spanish dive instructor who has been instructing in The Dive Shop two seasons ago. By now, Javier is DSAT Tec diving instructor! After leaving us in May 2011, he has been managing the dive center Buceo Balea back home in Spain at the Atlantic coast. Galicia is known for historical shipwrecks as well as cold water temperatures. Now Javi is happy to dive in 29 degrees C watertemperature again!

Diveshop would like to Thank Dive Supply Koh Chang, for the delivery of our new dive equipment just in time for the high season. The new equipment includes three xxs BCD and two 7 litre tanks. The new smaller sized equipment will make diving safer and easier for our younger guests. Now the whole family can enjoy the underwater beauty of Cambodia together.

Koh Rong Backpackers

We welcome The Koh Rong Backpackers which has just opened for business in November 2012 to help promote cheap, safe, comfortable and sociable accommodation on Koh Rong island. Located on the south-east corner of the island, Koh Rong Backpackers is a mixture of 6 bed, 8 bed & 10 bed dorm rooms complete with clean linen, mosquito nets, fans and secure lockers. Ideally situated on the same pier as us, it is only a few metres walk from the ferry landing to the reception desk where our friendly and helpful staff will be eagerly looking forward to extending a very warm welcome to you for your stay on Koh Rong. Built over 2 floors with exterior 2nd floor balcony with views across the bay, Koh Rong Backpackers is a labour of love for the team who built and established the backpackers. Downstairs is the bar/restaurant serving a mixture of breakfast, lunch, baguettes, Western and Asian dishes. The food in the short time since opening has been regularly praised and the late night menu has saved many a weary traveller from going to sleep hungry. The bar located above the water is a very relaxed environment during the day and at night time is frequented by backpackers relaxing or socialising and unwinding from a hard day on the beach or after an exciting day diving with The Dive Shop Cambodia and it's knowledgeable staff. Koh Rong Backpackers is located on Koh Rong island a short 2 hour ferry journey from Sihanoukville. Ferries leave at various times during the day from the mainland and ferry tickets can be purchased from The Dive Shop Cambodia located on Serendipity Beach Road, next door to Monkey Republic. When ever you get a chance pop in to Koh Rong Backpackers for a drink, a bite to eat or a good nights sleep.

Welcome to the team Lukas

Lukas first started diving when he first came to Australia. When visiting the great barrier of reef, he tried a scuba diving experience program, and soon get caught by the diving bug! Ever since he came back from the trip, all he could think about was diving.

After a period of on and off diving, he finally made his mind and turned his passion into a professional career, where he did his IDS in Thailand. He is now part of the team in The Dive Shop Cambodia.

"Diving has truly changed my life and I wish I could extend my excitement to my future students. As we have more divers in the world, we will increase our awareness of how important it is our sea, especially I hope to change how people see the ever misunderstood creatures, sharks"
